What is allowed through our firewall at Respawn:
- Steam authentication and chat (updates are blocked)
- Altitude authentication
- Plain Sight authentication
- Minecraft authentication
- League of Legends (with launcher workaround, see the Intranet forums for more info)
- Starcraft 2 (There will not be sufficient available bandwidth available until Sunday when the LAN quietens down. Plan accordingly)
Some popular games such asHoN aren't on this list presently as they use the internet connection for both authentication and gameplay - ie, there is no peer to peer or local server function for LAN play. We could let these games through, but they would be unplayable. Web browsing, IM, etc are also blocked for the same reason.
As always, we're on the look out for ways to get around the obstacles and this list may get some additions for the next event.
