hmm I'm getting 3.2ghz with my q6600.. with air.. is water really needed?

I also think I can push it up above 3.2 if I play around more as well.

Yeah I know, Water cooling probably isnt needed at the moment. However people have apparently been getting the 9550 to 4Ghz , So I was hoping to sit down when i get the time and play with the settings to see if i could get it to something close to the 4Ghz mark. So when and if I get it to that , water cooling probably will be needed.

Tt Big waters are prone to pump failures and leaks. Basically - anything TT that isnt top end PSU's is rubbish. And i dont even trust the psu's...

If your serious about water cooling you want to get some decent brandname water cooling gear, i.e. swiftech, danger den, etc, and as a rule of thumb, dont buy anything cheap, or anything in a kit. put it together yourself from quality parts.

Thing is, water-cooling can be much quieter than a similar performing air cooled setup...

And TT WC setups don't have problems as bad as they used to anymore neon, that was a common problem with there first ever WC release, think it was the 735 series, it was improved but still problematic with the 745.

BUT, A very common issue is user error with installation. Some people just shouldn't be doing ANYTHING with there hands lol. There's people that may have huge IQ's and shitloads of knowledge, but they shouldn't even be touching a screwdriver, let alone messing with the insides of a PC.

Most common problem, overtightening the hoses clamps etc. thinking they have to be ultra tight to make sure no leaks, next thing you know, with a bit of light movement, cracked block!

Just saying, TT isn't that bad, sure they might have some cheap stuff out, but there cheap cases are often as good as if not better than alot of other cheaper cases. I mean, they have cases with PSU's that costs only a little more than a generic POS and I'd go with the TT over generic anyday, from experience it's a MUCH better choice.

BUT - CoolerMaster is now killing it in the quality-budget case/psu combo's. TT is doing great now though, with some really nice new releases.

Oh nearly forgot to add...

That yes, I do agree with building a custom system over any kit if possible, using quality known trusted parts, eg. Swiftech etc.

watercooling is an addictive money hole... beware tongue.gif

unless your overclocking a fukton, have LOTS of hard drives, more than 2 graphics cards. Water cooling is a gimmick

TT watercooling maybe, but a good water cooling setup is not. I wouldnt however install watercooling if i didnt intend to overclock.
