Introducing Respawn LAN's 25th event: Construction Zone. Once again, we descend upon the likes of La Trobe University's Union Hall to bring you the biggest Melburne LAN party of the year. Thanks to our sponsors - SteelSeries, Tt eSports, Team Immunity and a new addition to the family - Popcultcha, for making this event possible. New to this event is the SteelSeries CS:GO Challenge, a $1000 cash prize for 1st place, $250 cash for 2nd and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd receive prizes from SteelSeries - headsets to 1st, mice to 2nd and mouse mats to 3rd - all exclusive CS:GO branded. Team Immunity will be there on the day to give you a bit of insight into professional esports and will be offering some tips to those who are new to the game. Starcraft II makes it triumphant return with a $350 cash prize for 1st place, $100 for 2nd and $50 for third and some products from Tt eSports. TF2 gets a $300 cash prize, COD4 sees a $250 cash prize. Other competitions will include our usual array of "fun comps" including: * Flatout 2 * Blur * UT2004 Instagib * HL2 Deatmmatch * CS:Source GunGame Note that there is no CS:Source 5v5 tournament.

Okay it's time to crank the font size up a tad, because it's time to announce... RESPAWN LAN VERSION 25 SEPTEMBER 22nd-23rd The Usual Details Once again, we're prepping to bring you the biggest LAN event of the year! Now with: * More CS:GO * More projectors * More awesomeness * More Steam mirror * More ultra-fast network. * More GunGame (we promise we'll run it this time). * More Flatout 2 * More CS:S, COD4, TF2 * More Starcraft II * More prizes * Less Channel 9 Olympic swimming coverage. And hopefully (to be confirmed), more Tribes Ascend! We'll open registrations in a week or so. Expect a lot of announcements etc leading up to the event this time... ;-)

v24.5 is no longer pre-pay only.	17th July 2012 - 10:15 AM

Greetings. We like to try new things every now and then. Some of these things work out brilliantly, like the introduction of Starcraft II competitions and ongoing improvements to our Internet access system. Other things don't work out so well. One transition we had thought would work out better would be moving to a pre-pay only system. We found that there's still a percentage of people out there who don't like the hassle-free merits of pre-paying. We'd like to know why this is - so maybe we can do this better in the future or perhaps we always need to offer a pay-on-the-day system. Our next event (and our September event) will have both pre-pay and pay-at-the-door options as we've done in the past.

v24.5 update!	9th July 2012 - 08:43 PM

Hey guys, Respawn 24.5 is two weeks away. So here's a bit of an update. For this event we're scaling down a bit to give ourselves a bit of a breather given the close proximity to our September dates. We haven't done a point five for a number of years. We've had plenty of demand for them; we just haven't had the excuse until now. Prepaid only - this is a PREPAY ONLY event. Let us know if this is a huge issue for you and why - but for now, we'd like to keep it this way. It just makes things simpler. Seat bookings are open for 24.5 - See this forum thread. Competitions! Starcraft II Call of Duty 4 Counter-Strike: Source Team Fortress 2 Flatout 2 We're hoping to run a Tribes Ascend competition if our Internet works out as we'd hope. We have a much smaller crowd so expect a few surprises Door prizes are as yet unconfirmed - we're working on something - stay tuned. See you guys there!

Respawn v24.5	19th June 2012 - 07:50 PM

Those diligently watching Facebook and the side bar here will have noticed we have just posted up a new event - Respawn v24.5! Due to the location change (the Odeon hall - you might have noticed it tucked away at the end of the driveway outside our usual location, Union Hall), this will be a much smaller event (only 160 players) and prepay only. More information this way!
