Hey Respawn,
Yesterday marks FOUR WEEKS until Respawn v17, powered by TT eSports. We'd like to take this opportunity to throw a few bits of information out to you.
Firstly, make sure to start practicing all of your favourite games now. One month isn't a long time, and you need to be in your best shape for all of the fun competitions at Respawn. Don't forget there will be a few AFK comps, so make sure to walk to the kitchen and back at least once per day.
Confirmations open on Friday the 25th of June at 9PM (a week and a day before the event). Please make sure to confirm your place ONLY if you still intend to attend. If at any point you change your mind, please unconfirm - there are lots of other players who want your spot!
There are prepay spots still available. If you want to put your gaming hat on, but missed out on getting a top 400 registration spot, all you need to prepay is either a PayPal account or a credit/debit card, or access to Direct Debit facilities (PM Tank on the forums for more information on DirectDebit) and you'll get a guaranteed seat! If you're on the waiting list, this is essential. Prepays close two weeks before the event.
For those that missed it on both the forums and the event registration page, the cost of entrance to Respawn has risen to $35. This applies to both prepaid and at-the-door tickets.
Lastly, we have updated our Terms and Conditions of Entry. Please see the updated T&C of entry at http://respawn.com.au/?page=guides.tandc. Acceptance of the terms and conditions is a requirement of entry to the LAN venue.
We'll bring more information to you in the coming weeks, including the competition time table, fun comps, and how to reserve seats for your group if you've prepaid.
See you at the event! -The Respawn Team |

Server crash

Hi!
Many of you tried to register for Respawn LAN last night when registrations opened at 9PM. The level of demand we received was unprecedented and the load on our server far exceeded anything we had ever seen before. Only 9 minutes in, the server failed due to load caused by registrations, forum activity and refreshing of the player list.
Through the next while, it bounced up and down a bit before we eventually took it down. We assure you, it hurt us as much as it hurt you; maybe even more.
Since then, our crack team of Web Monkeys have organised a move of the website to a larger, more reliable facility, and we'll be back online about now.
Now we're back up again, registrations will open again tonight (Friday) at 9PM. If you were one of the 100 lucky people to register last night, fear not - your registration has not been lost, you do not need to do anything.
We'd also like to take this chance to remind you that you are now able to prepay your Respawn ticket, to get yourself a guaranteed seat! See this thread in the forums for more information.
Thanks for being patient, and see you at the event! |
