Winter is here! And we've got some exciting news for you.
$3750 CASH PRIZE POOL
$2100 FOR PATH OF EXILE
SWEET, SWEET CASH PRIZES
That's right! We've partnered with NVIDIA®, makers of the GeForce® GPU and Gigabyte to bring you a massive cash prize pool for this event, including a massive $2100 pool for Path of Exile, cash prizes for DOOM 2, Goat Simulator and Starcraft II to supplement our existing $750 each for DOTA2 and League of Legends to bring a grand total of $5500 CASH.
Path of Exile
Path of Exile is a fast-paced MMO with a component that involves PvP and 'Races', where competitors can level up as quick as possible or compete to attain the highest score within a very short timeframe. We will take the results and award cash prizes to the top six Respawn LAN attendees. Our format will require that you create your character no earlier than 10AM June 28th to be eligible.
If you're in the market for a new GPU, NVIDIA are offering $50 in-game credit for this game and $50 for Heroes of Newerth. Click this link for more info.
Cash prizes from 1st to 6th place!
- $600 1st place
- $500 2nd place
- $400 3rd place
- $300 4th place
- $200 5th place
- $100 6th place
Please install the game prior to the event to limit any issues on the day but be aware we will ask you to create a fresh character at the start of the event. All competitors will have their character inspected prior to prizes being awarded.
You can download the game from the Path of Exile website.
DOOM2 (zdaemon)
DOOM, when released some 21 years ago, pioneered the "deathmatch" LAN gaming; it's where it all started. DOOM 2 added the Super Shotgun but was largely the same as the original - which was a good thing.
We are running two DOOM2 tournaments at this event. The first will be a 1v1 duel tournament on map01, the second will be a CTF tournament based on maps from the ZDCTF collection (to be decided). While the ZDaemon files are freely available from zdaemon.org, you will need the DOOM2.WAD file to play. You can get this file by purchasing DOOM 2 from Steam. We also have a server set up on the Internet if you fancy a game (both CTF and free for all) - just look inside the in-game server browser for the Respawn server.
Prizes:
- $300 1st place
- $150 second place
- $75 third place.
ZDaemon can be downloaded from the ZDaemon website.
Starcraft II 1v1
Starcraft II 1v1 returns as a staple to our tournament lineup. Cold hard cash? Sure thing!
- $250 1st place
- $150 2nd place
- $100 3rd place
- $50 4th place
Goat Simulator
You're a goat! You run around and head-butt things. You destroy things. There's a score given to things you do in the game. We'll be running a time-bound high score tournament where the winners get their share of cash prizes!
- $100 first place
- $50 second place
- $25 third place
Yes, we're the only event on the planet who are giving out cold hard cash for Goat Simulator! Thanks to NVIDIA and Gigabyte ;-)
Counter-Strike: GO 5v5 tournament prizes
CS:GO 5v5 is back again thanks to Tesoro with some awesome prizes for our winners:
More prizes from Corsair, Mionix, Tt eSports and Plantronics to be announced shortly! |

v31: Winter WonderLAN
|
14th May 2014 - 10:27 AM |
|
|
It's time to LAN again!

Note that this event is pre-paid only up until a few weeks before the event's scheduled commencement. All registrations will be placed on the waiting list until payment has been received.
Winter is coming! For some of us, it feels like it's already here. And what a better way to enjoy the colder months than sitting beside a gaming PC, socialising with your friends and then owning them in battle!
That's right! We're back for another 29 hour session of 425 gamers under one single roof. June 28th-29th, a capacity of 425 Bring-Your-Own PC places which continues to be Melbourne's largest event of its kind.
Registration is open and available right here!

v30 event wrap-up!
|
1st May 2014 - 12:48 PM |
|
|
A few years ago we were talking about how Respawn has built a great legacy of running quality LAN party events. Flashback was coined and shelved until v30, which has just passed and was an opportunity for us to reflect upon the 30 events (plus a few smaller events on the side) that we’ve run. The museum set up at the front entrance was a way we felt we could share that with our community.
8 years is a decent amount of time to be doing this. Where were you eight years ago when we started?
It’s the momentum fuelled by the people who attend our events - that is, you guys, that keeps us going. For as long as there are gamers walking through that door every three months, we’ll be there running cables, power, tournaments and handing out prizes alongside promoting our favourite brands. Every event, we get to meet new people, talk about our passion for the things we love and do some awesome stuff. We’d like to thank you guys for making it possible for our past 30 events. A 31st event is just around the corner.. more on that shortly.
Mionix rocked up with a bunch of stuff to give away including LED-illuminated balloons. They looked awesome, so thanks to everyone who participated. We had a great presence from Scorptec who were vending until 2PM; and Anyware Computer Accessories along with Tt eSports were showing off their latest products.
We’d like to tip our hats to ozfortress - Australia’s TF2 community - for an impressive showing and an amazing tournament and the folks at Team Immunity for being good sports. We look forward to working with them in the future. |
