Get ready, get set, Respawn LAN v18!

Greetings, loyal Respawnites,
Respawn LAN v18 is launching tonight (Friday); registrations are opening at 9PM sharp! Make sure you register early in preparation for the event (October 9-10) - we will fill up fast.
The entry fee is $35, and as with last LAN, we will be offering prepaid tickets to the first 250 people to opt in. PayPal and direct deposit are available. If you choose to prepay, you will automatically be allocated a seat at the event so that you don’t miss out if you rock up late. If you prepay and want to pick your seat / general location / have a group booking, please go to this thread!
We’re working on some absolutely sensational stuff this event, including some pro-gaming action and some big prizes to go with it but we’re not quite ready to announce yet. We’d love to tell you how awesome this is going to be, but we think it’s best that you take our word for it. Our competition line-up will include:
Call Of Duty 4 5v5
Counter-Strike: Source 5v5
Team Fortress 2
FlatOut 2, with a $150/50 prize for 1st/2nd place thanks to The Hub, a net cafe in Epping
We’ve got some amazing motorsport (and in particular Bathurst) themed AFK comps, with the traditional (ghetto ping pong, iron gut) and some new ones (wheelie chair time trials, MS Paint-athon, design your own V8 super car). Tank’s also been working overtime to bring the event some delicious new food and drinks! We’re happy to announce that we’ll be serving delicious hot dogs, meat pies, and sausage rolls, as well as hot beverages like coffee and hot chocolates throughout the event. Super Tasty!
On top of all of this, next Thursday we're hosting an online Tron competition. It will be run in a similar format to that of the Respawn fun comps, and will have a prize provided by TT eSports. Check the forums early next week for some more information on it.

Respawn v18 Announced!

Ladies and Gentlemen, start your engines, the race to Respawn LAN v18 is about to begin!
The event will be on the weekend of October 9/10, the starting grid has space for 425 players and we’ll be opening the gates to the grid (registrations!) the 27th of August at 9PM.
Prepayment will be available for the fastest racers to complete the process - doing so will ensure you’re starting ahead of the rest of the grid! The cost for this privilege is nothing more than the time to complete a paypal or direct debit transaction and the same entry fee, $35, as everyone who will be paying at the gates. Details on prepayment, including how many prepaid places will be up for grabs, will be available closer to the opening of registrations.
We will be seeing the return of all of our regular competitions, fun comps and AFK comps. Expect to also see an extra racing competition or two; after all, it is Bathurst weekend! The race will be streamed over the network, so you don’t need to worry about missing the action.
Prizes for the pro comps will be announced in the coming weeks.

Respawn Tron is up!

We all love Tron. No one can deny it. It's a fact.
And since we love Tron too, and we also love making you guys happy, we've set up an Official Respawn Tron Server!
Download Armagetron AD (available for Windows, Linux and Mac), go to Multiplayer->Custom Connect->put in 'respawn.com.au' and select connect!
We'll be coordinating when we (the Respawn crew) feel like playing in our Respawn IRC channel. You're welcome to play whenever you like, with anyone you like; but if you want a few more people, jump in to IRC and ask around!
The server will be up for the foreseeable future, so enjoy! |

Respawn Roadtrip to Reloaded

Greetings faithful readers.
Tomorrow (Thursday) morning at around 7AM, a convoy of Respawnites will be departing Melbourne, destined for a far away destination... Adelaide!
We're all heading to Reloaded LAN this weekend, arguably Australia's largest LAN. (We're sorry, alright? We didn't mean to lie to you about us being the largest, it's just how marketing goes, k?)
Throughout this trip, we, the weary travelers, will post a blog of sorts about the quest in this special forum.
I've already posted up the first post, although admittedly it's not very interesting - I mean, what can I say? I haven't even started packing yet!
